UNITED METHODIST WOMEN

The United Methodist Women are mission focused and support many efforts. Fundraisers throughout the year support Youth mission trips, Salvation Army Food Pantry, Polk County Christian Social Ministries (PCCSM) and the annual Share Your Christmas gift drive.  All women of BUMC are invited to attend!

The UMW have a general meeting once a quarter.  They also have a yearly Spring and Christmas Dinner for all women at the church.

NOW Group: We are a ladies organization that meets, at church, the 3rd Thursday at 9:30 am.We do not meet during summer months (June,July, August).
We are a Fellowship and Service Project group offering friendship and support to our members but also participate and add financial support to many area programs. Most monthly meetings we do invite a special speaker ie., House of Hope ( our January “emergency Hygiene bags” are made), Care to Learn, Alpha House, Share Your Christmas, Community Outreach Ministries (COM), our own UMC BIble School and Back-to-School Extravaganza and other programs/missions that other church members are involved in.

November meeting is always our “Silent Auction” that raises the money we use to help support our outreach and service projects. Most members donate annually also to our ”Pledge Box” that is in turn given to our own UMW to support their giving. We also have a monthly donation list for an item to be given to COM to help stock their much needed supplies.
Our December meeting is a potluck luncheon at a members home and usually involves wrapping Xmas gifts for Home Court Advantage kids and also gathering and delivering our Xmas gifts for the family we have adopted.
We culminate our year with our May Outing luncheon and have visited and enjoyed many area places over the years.
